![]() ![]() I think my old machine messed it up somehow. ![]() I had to put a new tape in it because though I was able to rewind the previous tape the rest of the way and play it back, I couldn't rewind it again. I got it set up to my TV and "record-through" converter box and it works fine. ![]() It has a manufacture date of 2003 and my previous VCR had a manufacture date of 1998 so it's a few years newer than my old VCR. But the VCR side still works and that's what he was previously using. It's also a VCR/DVD combo device that he got second hand but the DVD side doesn't work. Since his new recording device replaced the device that was previously on the TV, my stepfather said I could have that. Yes, his recording device has a digital tuner but he's still feeding the signal through a converter box to the analog television. My stepfather put a (somewhat) new VCR/DVD device on the Zenith analog console television. I finally gave up on my VCR when it would no longer rewind a tape all the way. So what would anyone recommend as a replacement VCR/DVD combo for use with my Zenith converter box? I would want to duplicate the same set up on any replacement for my VCR. The "view through" converter box is viewable on the "game" channel on my TV. The "record through" converter box is connected to and the VCR is set to record on channel 3. This way the signal from the converter box is fed directly to the VCR. The coaxial cable goes from the "out to TV " port on the converter box to the "in from antenna " port on the VCR. The antenna is plugged into the converter box. The converter box is connected to the VCR by the color-coded A/V cables going from the A/V ports on the converter box to the audio/video in ports on the VCR. The way I have the "record through" converter box and TV set up is that the VCR is plugged into the TV's antenna port. My father gave the VCRto me for Christmas 1997 or 1998. Lately however, my VCR has been taking longer to rewind and making a grinding sound while it does it so it may be time to replace it with a VCR/DVD combo. One for "view-through" connected to my Symphonic 13 inch "tube" tv and one for "record-through" connected to my RCA VR622HF VCR. ![]()
